How to Change Email and Password in Cloudflare

Learn how to update your Cloudflare account credentials to keep your account secure. You should use the email and password sent in the handover message to log in initially.

Step 1: Access Your Cloudflare Account

  1. Go to dash.cloudflare.com
  2. Log in with the email and password sent in the handover message
  3. You'll be taken to your Cloudflare dashboard

Step 2: Navigate to Profile Settings

  1. Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner
  2. Select "Profile" from the dropdown menu

Step 3: Change Your Password

  1. On the Profile page, click on the "Authentication" tab
  2. Click on the option to change password
  3. Enter your current password and your new password

Step 4: Change Your Email Address

  1. After changing your password, click on the "Settings" tab
  2. Look for the email update option
  3. Enter your own email address and the new password you just set.
    Cloudflare will use this email to remind you before your domain name expires and other important updates.
  4. You may need to verify the new email address. Check your new email inbox for a verification link

Security Note

Now your account is secured and only you have access. Make sure to keep your new credentials safe and consider using a password manager for additional security.

How to Register Personal Information on Your Domain

If you have not shared your contact information with us in your order, you'll need to add it to your domain to secure ownership.

Step 1: Access Domain Settings

  1. Login to your Cloudflare account at dash.cloudflare.com
  2. Select "Domain registration" in the left sidebar
  3. Now you should see your domain name listed and an option to "Manage" it. Click on it.

Step 2: Update contact information

  1. Click on the tab "Contacts"
  2. Here it is important that you update all the contact information to be accurate to secure your domain name.
    Updating registrant contact may required further verification. You may choose to skip updating.
    Billing contact may be skipped for now. You will be asked for this information when it is time to extend your domain name registration in the future.

How to Change Email Routing/Forwarding

Set up email forwarding so emails sent to your domain (like [email protected]) are forwarded to your personal email address.

Step 1: Access Email Settings

  1. Login to your Cloudflare account at dash.cloudflare.com
  2. In your Account home page, select your domain
  3. Click on "Email" in the left sidebar
  4. Select "Email Routing"
  5. Select the "Routing rules" tab
  6. Here your will see a list of your Custom addresses. You can edit, delete or create new custom addresses.

Edit Custom Address

  1. Click edit on the custom address you want to change
  2. Change the custom address name or destination email
  3. Click save. If you change the destination email, you may need to verify the new email address.

Create New Custom Address

  1. Click Create address next to the list of custom addresses
  2. Enter a new custom address. Example:
  3. Enter a destination email address
  4. Click save. The destination address may need to be verified.

Delete Custom Address

  1. Click edit on the custom address you want to delete
  2. Click the delete button

How to Change Images on Your Website

Step 1: Access Your Website Files

  1. Locate your website files folder that you recieved during hand over.
  2. If you have lost your website files folder, you can use our Website Files Recovery Tool to download your website files again.

Backup your website files

Make a copy of your website files and only make changes in that folder. So that you always have a backup of your website files.

Step 2: Make your changes

  1. In the images folder you will find all the images for your website. You can simply replace the images with the new images you want to use, make sure to use the same filename.
  2. Image Size Guide: The filename indicates the recommended format and size. For example:
    • img-landscape-1-960w.jpg = Landscape format, minimum 960px width
    • img-portrait-1-720w.jpg = Portrait format, minimum 720px width
    • img-hero-2560w.jpg = Hero image, minimum 2560px width
    • img-normal-1-720w.jpg = Square/normal format, minimum 720px width
  3. Preview your changes by opening the index.html file in your browser. You can also simply drag and drop the index.html file into your browser window.

Image tips

If you are not happy with how the image is cropped you can edit your image before replacing the previous image.

Step 3: Publish your changes

  1. Login to your Cloudflare account at dash.cloudflare.com
  2. In your Account home page, Click "Compute (Workers)" in the left menu, then select "Workers & Pages".
    Alternative: You can also click the search box at the top of the page labeled "Go to..." and search for "pages". Select "Compute (Workers) | Workers & Pages" from the results.
  3. Click on your domain name

Image Optimization

Use tools like TinyPNG or Squoosh to compress your images before uploading. This will make your website load faster and provide a better user experience.

How to Change Text on Your Website

Update text content on your website, including managing multiple languages if your site supports them.

Step 1: Access Your Website Files

  1. Log in to your Cloudflare dashboard
  2. Go to "Pages" and select your website project
  3. Click on "Settings" → "Builds & deployments"
  4. Connect to your Git repository if not already connected

Step 2: Edit Single Language Website

  1. Open the "index.html" file in your repository
  2. Find the text you want to change by searching for specific words
  3. Edit the text between the HTML tags
  4. Example: Change <h1>Old Title</h1> to <h1>New Title</h1>
  5. Be careful not to change HTML tags or attributes

Step 3: Edit Multi-Language Website

  1. If your website supports multiple languages, look for translation files in the "js" folder
  2. You'll see files like "translations_en.js", "translations_fr.js", etc.
  3. Open the appropriate language file
  4. Find the text you want to change by looking for the key (e.g., "hero.title")
  5. Update the value in quotes after the colon
  6. Example: Change "hero.title": "Old Title" to "hero.title": "New Title"

Step 4: Common Text Areas to Update

  • Hero Section: Main headline and subtitle
  • About Section: Property description and features
  • Reviews: Guest testimonials
  • Location: Area description and highlights
  • Contact: Contact information and call-to-action text

Step 5: Commit and Deploy

  1. Save your changes
  2. Commit the changes with a descriptive message
  3. Push to your repository
  4. Wait for Cloudflare Pages to automatically deploy the updates

Multi-Language Tip

When updating text in multiple languages, make sure to update all language files to keep your website consistent across all supported languages.

Step 1: Access Cloudflare Analytics

  1. Log in to your Cloudflare dashboard
  2. Select your domain
  3. Click on "Analytics" in the left sidebar
  4. You'll see various analytics options available

  1. Click on "Web Analytics" to see detailed visitor data
  2. You can view data for different time periods (last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, etc.)
